Rooted in simplicity, nourishment, and connection since 2011.
LuckyBolt started in 2011 with a bicycle cart and a breakfast burrito in Sorrento Valley. Founder and head baker Kris Schlesser — cooking alongside his mom, Chef Cory Lewis — built the business on a single belief: that good food nourishes both people and community. Over a decade later, what began as a humble lunch-delivery service has grown into one of San Diego's most trusted farm-focused food brands.
To quote Wendell Berry, eating is an agricultural act. Every choice we make at the table reflects the kind of farms, the kind of food, and ultimately the kind of community we want to live in. That idea has guided every decision we've made since day one — and it's what led us here, to The Lounge.
The Lounge is LuckyBolt's newest chapter: an evening space located right next door to our daytime café and bakery, designed as an antidote to the frenetic energy of the Modern Age. Same core values — simplicity, nourishment, connection — just with an emphasis on time and place. A space to naturally unplug, share a meal, and leave with a sense that you've tapped into a well of good energy.
LuckyBolt works directly with regional farms whose growers we know and trust. By sourcing this way, we ensure that every meal reflects thoughtful agriculture and helps strengthen San Diego's local food community. No middlemen, no guesswork — just relationships built on mutual respect for the land and the table.
Our partners include Hukama Produce, Dassi Family Farm, Schaner Farm, Rodney Kawano Farms, Rio Del Rey, Happy Hens, Perennial Pastures, and Mountain Meadow Mushrooms.
Great food doesn't need to be complicated. It needs honest ingredients, care, and restraint. We make everything from scratch — from daily sourdough loaves to the sauces on your plate.
We believe food should make you feel as good as it tastes. Ingredients that come from farms we know and trust, prepared without shortcuts. That's the LuckyBolt promise.
The Lounge exists because we believe there is more to eating than the act of consumption. It's a third space — a place to slow down, talk to your neighbor, and feel part of something.
The Lounge is open Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 10920 Roselle St, Sorrento Valley. Stop by, pull up a chair, and stay a while.
